Horsefuckery

Well, I guess my fifteen minutes of fame are here. Welcome to my world, and welcome to all of the horsefuckery that occurs on this island. Thanks to "Bronc", my PR guy, for that word, and no, I am not paying you. I am not here to pick on tourists, nor locals; I am just here to lift the veil on this dysfunctional asylum that we call "Paradise". Enjoy it, or move on. I'll be back soon.

  1. Just ignore those grumpy tourists who opine and bitch about everything over on "that" message board (you know the one), and think they own the damn island just 'cause they come here (way too) often. It's nice to hear a fresh voice. Keep on keepin' on.

  2. Actually, I have been following your blog for some time, and I find it "right on." I own a rental villa on-island and come down 3-4 times a year for a few weeks at a time and I tell you - I couldn't live there full time AND deal with tourists the way you do without heavy meds and/or rum. Dealing with the renters on my end is pain in the ass enough.

STJ is a great place, but no - it is not paradise. And, it takes a special individual to deal with all the horsefuckery on a day to day basis.

My hat is off to you - enjoy your 15! :)

  3. Fantastic work here. Keep it up and enjoy the 15. If you're like me, keep those hands at 14:58 and enjoy the ride.

What time does the 2:00 ferry leave?

  4. It is like the "good ole boy" system is STJ. the locals do whatever they want and the cops can turn their head. I have lived on island and seen it.-----------trauts14

  5. I post on "that" forum and quite enjoy your blog. I do think that STJ is paradise but only if you don't live and work there. I fall in love with the place more every time we go, but after 8 trips I realize with increasing clarity that it is not an easy place to live. Keep up the good work.

  6. heat meet kitchen...initially i thought it was sort of bitter, but on further reading I enjoy a lot of what you say --some of it is really very funny not so much the grammar police, but whatever-- to each his own. Having grown up on another island and living thru hellacious summers of visitors in still another 'paradise', i can certainly relate to much of what you say --but as you probably read--cautionary tale about blogs--I posted about two folks who i know lost their jobs due to blogging about work. people all need to develop thicker skin...especially if they are putting stuff out there in cyberspace or whatever you want to call it (and i cannot believe what those folks let their kids do to that house--that's nuts......)

  7. I'm a tourist on your island and I couldn't agree more that tourists are morons. Keep writing, you are talented and humorous. I enjoy your observations.

  8. You mean "this" forum?

"ONLY SIX HUNDRED AND FIFTY TWO DAYS 'TIL ST JOHNS! CAN I SHIP MY COOLER FULL OF HAMBURGER MEAT, PABST BLUE RIBBON AND FRITOS TO CONNECTIONS?"

    Barf.
