Thanks, Brocette, you've redeemed yourself. Although a shot of the pole crashing down would have filled my black heart with joy.

Now you see it...

And now you don't:
At first I laughed that the WAPA workers made time-and-a-half on a holiday to take the pole down today, but then I realized what a brilliant idea it was to do it while school was closed, since the school bus uses the round-about to discharge students in the afternoon. I can't believe I am actually praising WAPA. I must be losing what's left of my mind.

What the?

Now tourists are parking in the round-about, and this guy looks like he's directing traffic.
It's that most wonderful time of the year.  Not.

Yoo-hoo. I'm talkin' to you.

Lookie here. The round-about is not the best place to pick up people.
May the circle be unbroken. Move along now.

More round-about!

OK! Check that white SUV, pretty much in the center of this photo. Snapped this as they drove ON THE RIGHT through the round-about, narrowly missing a collision with the red Jeep Cherokee.
Nice!

The round-about, again!

No, no, no!!! You do not stop in the middle of the round-about, ever. And certainly NOT to drop off a bus load of children on a busy Friday afternoon! If I had a child getting off that bus, I'd be pissed!

The Round-About From Hell

So, 2009 was trying for us here on St. John while the round-about was being constructed. Here are some of my highlights from last year. Next up, some of my favorite photos from 2009.
